HELP ME PROVE TO MY WIFE
My wife is constantly wearing the should part of the seatbelt under her arm because she says it is more comfortable.
I constantly tell her that this is dangerous and I need you guys to help me!
Help me provide proof by way of video links or whatever because it is like beating a dead horse man....
I've looked already but I'm limited here at work.
Please help!

I have nothing to link to, but the two point belt argument is right on. Notice car company's don't even use them in rear seats anymore. I had read at one point that serious injury or death can occur at really low speeds with a lap only belt.
With a high speed impact if the lap belt rides up over the hips the entire force of impact would be taken up by the spine. And the top part of you body would fly forward making head injury much more likely. But hey, whats not to like about a drool bib and colostemy bag?
For cripes sakes, how "uncomfortable' can it be to have a belt lightly draped over her shoulder?
Tell her she can wear it under her arm as long as she rides with a giant helmet on.
Or tell her she can no longer buy cute little shoes because big sneakers are much more comfortable.

I read many accounts that extensive rib damage can occur as well as head trauma
due to the upper torso flying forward in a crash.
She is a visual person so i know a video would put things in prospective.
Now the cute little shoes is a WHHOOLLLE nother issue!
I just did a quick search and came across a website from Boulder, Colorado. I was able to find a lot of arguments for not putting the stram under your arm, but they were all talking about children. It was difficult to find one that was talking about adults. But for the most part, the 1st and 3rd are you main points to discuss.

Adjust Your Shoulder Belt...
* Position your shoulder belt over the top part of your shoulder and across your chest. That distributes crash forces over a large area of your rib cage and protects your soft organs underneath.
* Make sure the shoulder belt lies comfortably snug against your body. Some shoulder belts work like window shades. Each time you lean forward, even a little, and then back the shoulder belt loosens and stays that way unless it's tugged on. There should never be more than one inch of slack between you and your shoulder belt. Get into the habit of checking your belt often.
* Don't tuck your shoulder belt underneath your arm. In a crash, this puts pressure on your ribs, which are thin and easily broken. Broken ribs may be pushed inward potentially causing serious damage to your internal organs.
* Secure your children safely. Children who have outgrown their regular car seats still may not be tall enough to safely wear a shoulder belt. It may cross their neck or face. A correct fit can be achieved by raising the child up on a special car booster seat. Select a booster seat that will keep the lap belt low across the child's thighs or hips.

Didn't she watch "Red Asphalt" in High School like the rest of us?

Still wasn't as good as the huffing movie in health class, where the kid's brother is going to stop huffing "tomorrow" only to have him OD, die, and it fades to black as the kid runs down the street screaming "WHEN IS TOMORROW??". A few buddies of mine and I still text each other with that every now and then.
And yes, comfort be damned compared to punctured lungs. Go to 4chan. Find some nasty ****ing pictures of dead people, make up a story that they died due to improper seatbelt use, voila! Problem solved.
