A buddy of mine were talking about which bands were popular in the US. We seemed to have a difference of opinion. Being that we both don't live there, I figured I would ask you guys.

Thanks!

P.S> I just watched Buffy, and I'm a very happy boy!!!

If you would have asked me in high school I would have said "Rush".

I think BNL gets the vote for the current hot band.

It's really odd, but for some reason the only CD's I've purchased recently have been Canadian bands: MGB, Sky (one song was good, the rest weren't so hot), and Wide Mouth Mason to name a few.

Hey, what about Pat Travers (probably still snortin' whiskey, etc) and Triumph!?!

MC, I think you will need to narrow down the question a little. I'm with DaveZ, I would have said Rush in high school and I might still say it today. Are you asking the most popular current band from CA?

Clarify!

I used to like the Barenaked Ladies before the pop stations got a hold of their songs and overplayed the crap out of them.

I'd say Barenaked Ladies would be the most popular, but not my fave. I'm partial to I Mother Earth.

Hmmmm LOVERBOY, Honeymoon Suite, Glass Tiger, the Spoons and Platinum Blonde. WARNING IF THE ABOVE SENTENCE IS READ INDUCE VOMITTING!!!

I'd like to say the Hip, but they are too "national" in tone, so I'll say BNL and Rush second, depending on how recent the release is.

Overall considering sales I'd say BNL today.

Pretty vague question. Strictly bands, or any musician? If you're looking at singers, Celine Dion, Shania Twain and Bryan Adams stick out as having sold a lot of albums. Barenaked Ladies might be the "hottest" canadian band of recent.

This Site has a good list of Canadian singers/bands.
