Help me settle something, Who's the biggest Canadian band in the US?

Hey Venom,

One of my students is their monitor engineer. Perhaps I can hook you up when they come to town again.

Sorry to just check back in guys. Ok for those wondering I said that Rush was the biggest band in the US, Besides the Shania, Celine crowd. My buddy was banking on BNL. So I guess it's pretty much a draw. If we were talking strictly album sales, I would probably give the nod to Alanis, But you can't deny Rush, being around so long.

Thanks for your posts, I remember back when I was younger there was barely a canadian band to speak of, now that i've seen your replies it's kind cool to see some of the ones you mentioned.

I guess I get into this small little world thing then I hear someone say I like Matthew Good, and I Mother Earth.

How about Our Lady Peace? these guys getting any airplay out there?

Definitely BNL, they have been my favourite Canadian band since 1990 when I first moved to Toronto.

I actually caught them in Melbourne last year when they paid their first visit here. Way to go!!!!!!

Eh, I thought we were talking about groups. If I had considered solo artists, my guess is that more US folks have heard of Shania, Celine and Alanis. BNL is pretty popular now, but the previous have had bigger hits and have been around longer (at least in the US).

BTW, I don't care for country music, but for some reason, I find myself watching Shania's videos

the biggest canadian? SNOW of course....sheesh that was a no brainer lol.

i would have to say the most pop canadian band isn't BNL....they've only had two hits...no one even cares about them anymore.

another to include would be Steppenwolf.
c'mon Born to be wild & Magic Carpet Ride?

Yea, I like Our Lady Peace. As for Rush, 2112 is still one of my favorite albums of all time.
