That might resemble CPK....but the rest of our restaurant doesn't! Some more photos!

wow, huge fitout. do u own it or is it a consortium??
whats the seating capacity in that place, is it a standalone or is it part of a club, centre, etc???
i'd hate to see what the operating costs are for that place, it looks huge, floorspace wise and staffing wise.
whats ur role there btw.
sorry for the intrusive questions but im interested, cause $3m fitout is pretty big and thats not including the cost of the building/ lease, etc (if im assuming correct)

Hi Blacks2k,

I noticed that you're in the Food and Beverage industry too, very cool.

To answer some of your questions:

Seating Capacity: aria is a bar and restaurant so there are two areas. The bar capacity is 95 people and the restaurant 110. 200 total I guess.

aria is part of the Fairmont Hotel here in Chicago. We are marketing it separate of the hotel though. Print ads and on the website "www.ariachicago.com" has no mention of the Fairmont Hotel Chicago.
It was a very expensive undertaking due to the removal of the two venues that occupied the space before. That space was gutted and then reoutfitted for the new restaurant.

I'm the property technology director at the hotel. I oversaw all POS installations, internet connectivity and other systems involved with the restaurant. It's wired better than some offices! We even have Cisco wireless internet access enabled. Overkill? Time will tell.

Cheers

Yup! I've been to Aria quite a few times. Clients, wife, and friends all loved the experience there.

Glad to see the restaurant is still in business.

As an fyi, the company I recently started with hired me to design a new software suite to replace their 20+ year old product that top technology clients still use. When I initiated the project, we code named it "ARIA".....and part of me chose it in honor of this restaurant and this thread.

Thanks to all who contributed to this informal 'survey'. We decided on the name "ARIA":

Aria (n) 1: an accompanied elaborate melody sung (as in an opera) by a single voice
2 : a striking solo performance (as in a movie)

Construction started and we're hoping to open at the end of November. I can't believe how fast the construction is going ...it's only been a few days and they knocked down walls and opened a new entrance. Very exciting.
One word names are always easier and better.
