HOA=legal NAZI Fascism Regimes of America

I would ask who takes care of the street, like snow plowing and general maintenance and if they come back saying the township or borough takes care of it, then it is a public street which has no restrictions of time being parked on...unless there is a street sweeper.

In other words, tell them to go pound sand!!!!

Alls I know is, we used to have By-Law officers come and ticket people for parking at the base of the driveway (apparently the city owns the first XX number of feet from the curb, perhaps up to where your water connection is.

They also ticketed for vehicles parked MORE THAN 3 HOURS on the road. Ridiculous. I did find out that with a single phone call you could obtain a "Parking Consideration" that allowed you to park overnight, on the "city property" part of your driveway, etc. No charge for the Consideration.

The issue is that they are potentially encouraging people to get in their vehicles and drive home after drinking for fear of receiving a fine. That was always my argument.

Park the cars in front of your neighbor's house next time, let THEM deal with the $15 fee.

hmm, valid point. There really is no proof the car even belonged to someone I know. Just because its parked in front of my house on a public street doesnt mean much

Unfortunately for me, I rent the house so I have to go through the property management company that then relays the info to the HOA. It pisses me off enough to deal with it but at the same time the hours of back and forth with this borderline retarded property mgt company probably isnt worth the hassle.
Rent? I'm pretty sure they have no power over you at all. Read your lease, did the owner include any language that held you liable to the HOA? If not I would say you are in the clear and any problems from the HOA will have to be dealt with between them and the owner.

If I were you, and there was no mention of the HOA being your responsibility in the lease, I would throw the ticket away and forget about it. There are even some states where there is no legal binding to HOA fines and they can't even force the real owner to pay them...

HOA's are usually good by idea and poor in execution.

heres the response I get after telling them how unsatisfied I am with their overall services and how im tired of being nickle and dimed over every little item....

"Wow that was harsh. For some reason all of our tenants seem to think that we go out there and give these violations. Well we dont your HOA does were just the middle guy that have to mail them out when we get them just an FYI to you. SORRY.."

and heres the response I get after asking for a name/number to someone at the HOA that can actually help me....

"oh yeah you can call the HOA yourself if you like when we mail it to you it will have the HOA numbers and vioaltion number on there you are always welcome to call them I guarantee you are not the only one getting parking violations we get about 20 a day for different tenants. And wether its a warning or a fine our policy is we charge you $15.00 no matter what that is in your move in package and if there was a fine we would charge you thr fine plus the $15.00 fee. Sorry"

So from the looks of it this was just a warning but my asshat property management company has decided to profit from it. My fault for signing the initial papers I suppose

Mine has been pretty good. What's been ass has been our property management company. We pay our dues, and the pool guy, gardener, painters and construction aren't getting paid. Why? Property management takes 15 days to get a check cut, but can clear ours overnight. Asshats.
