Default Honda VTX1800

I'd never been remotely interested in any motorcycle before...then I saw this:

http://www.hondamotorcycle.com/models/2002..._number=VTX1800

(Be sure to check out the Gallery and Engineering pages.)

Anyone else seen this bike or been following its introduction? Anyone considering adding it to their garage to complement their S2K?

John

I saw this in a website about a year ago. It's a cruiser - big, heavy, brawny. It has a huge motor but it's not high output so it won't keep up to any lightweight sportbike or even a standard liter bike. If you like the idea of big, then this bud's for you. I prefer light and nimble with some modicum of comfort like maybe an FZ-1.

Not high output? I think it has more power and torque than any other bike in production. No of course it's not as fast as the pure sport bikes, but at 7 lb/hp it'll kill our S2Ks. Plus it's supposed to be surprisingly nimble and comfortable -- check out the "awards and reviews" page.

Put the power to weight ratio down ... Damn! No wonder Honda is always doing good in the bikes side of business. Too fast for me, I can only admire what they can really do when they put the power down to the asphalt.

Really nice cruiser, it's gotten great reviews. My main complaint is the weight - 705 frickin' lbs.!

Check out the Yamaha Warrior - no real comparisons are out yet, but I'm willing to bet it kicks the VTX's ass, esp. in the twisties w/ it's 100 lb. lighter weight and sportbike-derived chassis.
