Honda's newest 240hp engine - I WANT!
Yes the RCV is a gorgeous motorcycle, I sure hope they come out with a street version just in time when I'm selling my soon to be bought 2002 VFR (sorry, Intercepter) ... Hope it does well in it's maiden year in GPs, unfortunately not many of Honda's top racers wants to ride and test it otherwise they might be pegged to campaign an untested bike in such a competitive series.
Still, I'm sure it'll be a force to be reckoned with once they sort it out. Then they'll just need another Mick Doohan to take 'em to victory.
Okay okay, so Doohan didn't have many great rivals like he did in the days of Rainey, Schwantz, Gardner Mamola and Lawson but I digress...

240 at the rear wheel is their goal? (see below). They will need to have only qualified folks apply!!! Imagine Joe Highschooler hopping on the 280hp (at the crank) motorcycle!!!! The Hyabusa has 185 crank and 156 wheel hp... and it is running 145mph in under 10 seconds! i cannot even imagine what this Honda would be like....
I guess as soon as some idiots wreck them, I can take the engines and put them in a Westfield

By the way, forget about limiting horsepower to roughly 200 at the rear wheel, latest rumors out of Japan indicate Honda wants roughly 240 at the rear wheel -- with a smooth, flat torque curve. This thing will inhale straightaways like they aren't there. If it can go around corners, lap records will be absolutely obliterated. Ditto for the Yamaha in-line four MotoGP bike.

True about handling, let's see what Honda puts together. Don't forget they built the corporation on bikes before cars and they're still leading the way in success. Hmm, no doubt the bike won't be an easy drive for a usual car driver.
