Btw some fishermen hate dolphins with a passion because some dophins not only will eat their catch but also destroy their nets and other equipments that cost tens of thousands in damage.

some dolphins probably hate fishermen with a passion because their nets take precious fish and catch and kill helpless dolphins that don't really have a price tag and aren't insured :/

WTF cares who "hates" dolphins? Hating and treating inhumanely as a matter of course are two different things.

I'm just point out some fishermen would kill dophins on purpose for ruining their livelihood but it's in no way justifiable for cruelty to animals.

I agree there should be more humane way of catching and killing these dolphins than those shown in the video, but again these Japanese fishermen probably think those dolphins are just another type of fish.

I think we'd all like to see a kick painless/near painless kill for everything we eat. That's the bulk of the issue here. I don't like the idea of smashing a chickens head against two rocks either. No one with a sense of empathy wants to see an animal suffer. I'll catch a fish and cut his head off and then gut it. Now as for eating dolphin well I see them as intelligent and special too , just like a dog/cat. However, I'm not going to judge another cultures ways. If they want to take a live cute little puppy and string him on a hook to catch a shark, I'm not going to get outraged and start damning them.

Dogs and cats are cute and cuddly and make good companions. And while they seem to be smarter than some other animals they aren't even in the same league as Dolphins.

Dolphins are "people" with completely different points of reference. Don't confuse them as being like dogs and cats.

so whose hungry for some seafood...I know I am.

I have to agree with VTEC Junkie on this issue, either we eat animals or we don't, just because it may be more "intelligent" doesn't mean it shouldn't be eaten, hell if we don't eat some punk ass shark is going to get it. And if they were so intelligent they wouldn't get douped into the trap, shame on them. Darwinism at it's finest, if the dolphins were so smart they should jump on the boats an knife fight the fisherman. Plus beside loooking cute and making clicking noises dolphins haven't done anything for us, I bet they're plotting a take over of the world right now. These fisherman are just putting them in they're place. Instead of looking down on these fisherman we should be thanking them. See you in hell Flipper, you sneaky Commie bastard.

Well now I'm all hungry, gonna make a condor egg omlette and a nice 12oz dolphin steak.

when making the decision to respect the way other cultures do some things, it is worth keeping in mind that not everything is relative. Some cultures may have no respect for human life. It is not acceptable to say "that is just their way, we should respect it." We are under no obligation to give a free pass to any kind of behavior simply because "it's another culture."

A person is not automatically calling everyone of other cultures "savages" just because they think a particular practice is heinous or shameful. It is entirely possible to have a negative opinion and still be rational.
Yes rational, not calling them "crazy," "barbaric," or any other like forms of the words. Yes, you are right in the fact that we have no obligation to give out any free passes, but the case is not that we are killing humans (which is murder, aka: a crime) or have no respect for human life, but that they are merely eating another animal. IMHO and beliefs God made it so animals could eat one another, so why can't we? We are animals as well correct?

It's a big leap from killing an animal (however intelligent they may be) to killing another person. No, I don't think it is right to kill them the way they do, it should be faster, more painless, but that's why I live in America. Different views are what makes this life worth living, it's what makes us diverse, it's what enables us to see topics from two sides.

Would I eat dolphin, well no, but that is my decision, and I feel they can eat whatever they want if they believe it is ok. Now, I know someone will retaliate with, "well what about people, can they eat people?" If the person being eaten consented I have no idea why they couldn't, I don't agree with it and would never do it, but again, to each their own. If the person didn't, that is called murder.
