Default How do you get your deposit back?

I ordered a part over 6 months ago, and another vender has the same part coming in next month for a better price.

How do I cancel my order with the 1st company and receive my deposit back so I can just order it from the other vender?

I tried canceling this order before a month or two ago and the company gave me the run around and basically said I have to go through with the order. They do not have any terms or conditions about refunding deposits and canceling orders listed on their website.

What should I do?

If you purchased with a CC you should be able to charge back.

I always use a credit card so that their is at least a record on the account of the purchase and the company can just re credit the card.

the issue here is how do I get the company to agree to give me my deposit back and let me back out of the order.

last time I talked to them they told me following through with the order is my end of the bargain, and they were holding up their end by allowing me to leave a deposit.

is their a legal term or talk I should know, or should I just call them up and say I have a better offer, either match it or I want my money back?

Call them up and if that doesn't work just call ur credit card company and dispute the charge and not to allow them to re charge it.

I would ask them the following "How long do you expect me to wait for this part? My car will be sold before it even gets here."

How long did they quote you to get the part? I don't want to sound like an asshole or just automatically take their side, but if they are inside the time frame it would seem they would keep your deposit; that being the whole idea behind a deposit. Because if you cancel your order, now the company ends up getting the product shipped to them and they don't have a buyer for it and they're stuck with it. Again, not what I think should happen, just what most companies stick to when they accept deposits for long term orders for products.

If it is a special order item, you might not get your money back.
