I use a Sensor Excel. I also have a Mach 3, but am usually too cheap to buy blades for it.

I used to have an electric Norelco, but it didn't shave nearly as close, and the blades still eventually went dull. Of course this was a number of years ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if the new electric razors shave closer than they used to.

No shaving creme either. I shave in the shower every morning, if the face is nice and hot, it shaves easier I heard. So i just shampoo, then use some shampoo off my head and use it for shaving!
Oh yea, i go against the grain too, otherwise it doesn't work too good. Never shave my moustach (sp) though, I use the electric for that.

I shave with a Dovo Solingen straight razor. Old time style. I have a strop, a badger hair brush, and shaving soap. The straight razor eliminates ingrown hairs because it cuts the hair off at the surface of the skin, and not below. The cutting of the hair below the skin's surface is what gives electric and double, triple, etc razors their "baby smooth" face.

The straight razor is difficult at first, but it fits well into the daily routine. I enjoy shaving with it every time.

The best part of shaving is the soap. I have Colonel Conk and Burt's Bees shaving soap. The soap is worked into a lather with a brush (badger hair is best because it holds moisture so well), and then brushed onto the face. It makes shaving so smooth, and is much better than cream or gel.

I despise shaving and generally end up only doing it once a week (friday before i go out)...Use a hair buzzer to get it short and then an electric (one of the ones with 3 round spinny blades).

works alot better than using blade everyday (= red bumps all over for me )

I pulled a 1/2 inch ingrown hair out of my neck yesterday (I know, TMI) and I really wanna ditch my Mach 3, but I haven't found anything else that will cut through my tree trunk stubble and look like I actually shaved.

I've always used a Mach 3 and shaved down (with the grain) and my face is smooth if you glide a finger down it. However, in the other direction, there's resistance. The only way I can get rid of it is if I shave both up (against the grain) and down. Shaving up is a biotch though. Only thing that gets me smooth all over is an electric. Anyone else experience something similar to this?
