Default How do you take off your old tint?

my friend has has her tint on for about 7 years. she was quoted $150 for it to be taken off because of labor and time. we want to do it ourselves so are there any suggestions?? any help is appreciated.

razor blade and lots of steam. You should be able to peel most of it off, but it will leave a residue behind. You need steam the windows to soften it up and then it comes right off with a razor blade. I think you can get a steam gun, but I didn't have one so I had to make a bunch of trips back and forth to the kitchen to boil some watter in a kettle. That would kind of suck for the back windows though.

careful not to damage the defroster lines.. don't mess up those things.. or your backwindsheidl will always be like.. ultra foggy... ya.. you need to get a steamer.. those household carpet steamer will work for it. and just go slowly with it... like I said.. DON"T CUT THE DEFROSTER LINES! thsoe black lines across your back window.. and those hard to reach areas... just leave it alone and then have them charge you for the ones you couldn't get off. good lukc
