Tonight was Family Fun night at the school......

I threw 70mph... i am pretty happy with that... i am old and don't have particulary long arms (5'11" with normal wingspan)....

When I was 13, I had been pitching for about 3-4 years and I registered ~75mph as fastest pitch, but that was with absolutely no accuracy.

I haven't measured it since. I'm 22 now.

I was a pitcher in high school before my rotator cuff gave out. Low 80's is pretty standard if you are in a decent program, that's about as good as I could do. The fastest guy on our team could throw ~88 but wasn't very consistent. I couldn't hit him worth a damn during practice if he actually got it over the plate.

70 is not bad at all for a non-baseball guy.

I never got timed, I always just threw the shit out of it. I guess that is why my arm would hurt after every game.

Pitched freshman year, avg. fastball was just shy of 80mph.

Then again, I would switch it up and throw like my first two pitches regular, then hit 'em with a submarine-style pitch at 60mph.

Screwed 'em up really bad.

Mid 80's....

First pitch is ok
Second pitch is always the fastest.
Third pitch feels faster but registers slower.

At my age I'd be lucky to throw it 60' 6".

I hit about 81 at an amusement park once, but the ball felt really heavy to me for a baseball.

A buddy from my HS through low 90's. He was offered a minor leagues contract with the Mets after attending one of those open tryout days somewhere. He was the only one on the team in HS that could hit 90 mph balls out of the pitching machine too.

He preferred school. Did not even play college ball to concentrate on his studies. Got a masters and then a PHD and then took some low paying political activist type gig. Wierdo.

I hit 86 mph when I was dating my girlfriend my first year of college (overhand). I haven't gone "under the gun" since then but I highly doubt I'd go much higher than 70 or 75 mph nowadays...
