How to fight a late ticket fee
Hi members, I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but hope to get some generious answer here. I live in San Francisco, and was late to pay my stop sign ticket, and what I'm getting is 300 fine. Does anybody got experience how to fight it with good reasons?
I have couple in mind, but not sure it would be valid.
1. I transferred school, and moved out of city during the due time.
2. I had finals.
3. I have doctor's notes (but the date was like 10 days after the due date)
4. I have to prepare for school/transferring.
I believe the first one is the stronggest. but still, not sure.
When some time in life things just happened in the wrong timing and put me into a situation where I can't handle everything, things like this ticket were neglected. hope this won't be happening again, and hope i can get around with this 300 fine.

Well I don't think you'll be in luck with your first reason. I live in Canada and if you're late paying a fine, they don't care unless it's something extreme like a real emergency. See the thing is, you have 90 days to pay so they will probably argue and ask why you didn't just pay it off within the first 30 days?
Good luck though

You could say that you couldn't afford it and have come up with the fee now, but can't afford the additional late fee.
