a passport just makes life so much easier. I don't know about you but the last thing I want to do is travel around with my birth certificate (esp. into Mexico)

laws change next year I heard for passports, they are a must eventually for international traveling, even in canada and south of the border

They change in 08 I believe if you are flying. If driving, the date is delayed even further.

I hate my passport! It looks retarded, or I look retarded in it, but can't replace due to high cost and long wait. On top of that, it hasn't gotten any stamps even though I've traveled to many countries.

Say he applied in July (3 months ago) and he got it in Sepetmber (2 months from July), then it would make sense. I think.

About 3 months ago you applied for one and you received it in about 2 months later.

Used to not take more than 6 weeks. Now it's going to be MONTHS with the new requirement.
