I used to have a dog named Flower, who wouldn't eat anything from anyone but me, I used to do that with bacon on her nose, and it would sit there until I said she could eat it.

Actually, that shows very good training in that the dog resisted the impuse to move even when tempted.
And the payoff was good, oh, yes, it was good!
