Because he didn't say so, I'm assuming he doesn't really need the extra money.

i'm doing better than most people my age, i certainly don't need the money. part of me just wants it.

one location option is close by and i have tons of friends family there... more so even than where i currently live. the only real unkown in that one is how much i'd like working for a different company. i have a pretty good thing going where i am now...

thing is, i eventually want to move south because i hate ohio weather in general... pursuing this other job and moving right now would mean committing to another couple years in the midwest. that is my #1 reason for staying where i am.

interesting reading everyone's thoughts. seems like for most people moving for money isn't on the radar.

Life's too short to be miserable. Being around friends and having things to do >>> having more money in a bank account and spending it on yourself.

Lets see...it would have to be at least 70% increase for me to even consider it. Even then, I probably would not take it still. I enjoy my job and especially all my friends and family are all here. I am very family orientated so it would be difficult for me to just up and go. Also, I would hate the whole transition as well as my job security if I was to start new. I make fairly well so it's not like money is an issue. So I guess for me personally, I would probably not accept it.

i was offered a job with my same company but instead of in the gulf i'd be in the north atlantic, even after 20,000 more a year i turned it down

if i'd be able to live down here i'd do it but it required i move somewhere up north, or to canada

i don't pay anything on my house, my only bills are my car notes, car insurance, water electric and gas, after those are paid i'm free to have fun

I'm not going to name them because I don't want this to turn into a flame war regarding various areas of the country.
