How To Write Unmaintainable Code

Interesting, but an awful lot of unmaintainable code was/is written without working that hard at it. I have known many so called programmers that wrote stuff that was easier/better to throw away and rewrite than modify, and they were coding to the best of their ability.. seriously

stuff like this got me fired from my last job 
i changed a program to do a completely different task in the main system, however i did not change a singe variable name. they were NOT thrilled with my work, even though i did it in 2 hours instead of 4 days to do it in a human-readable manner.
