Default I bought my 16 year old an S2000

I am a parent and I bought my high school child an S2000, Evo, STI, etc.

That's who I am looking for in this thread. There are so many of those high school kids on here saying their parents (or themselves) bought the S2000 (or other similar sport car). Well I would like to hear from one of those parents. What made you think that your kid can handle a car like that like a mature, responsible person?

Well there HAS to be some of you out there. Don't be shy. I wanna hear your thought process. I am not trying to put you down, but only trying to figure out the rationilization. Are you simply filthy rich and want your kids to represent you? Did you have a hot car when you were young and want to pass it on? Cmon let's here what you have to say.

My parents bought me a Porsche 944 back when I was 16 (About 15 years ago). I loved that car. It made a huge impact on my young life. I only wrecked it one year after I got it .

My Dad bought it for me because I have always loved exotic cars (to a 16 year old a Porsche is pretty exotic). He wanted me to go to a private high school and I resisted because of how snobby that school was, so the car was bought to make me happy.

Raj, I know you're a good guy who really isn't a snob, but this sentence is just too funny (refering to getting a Porsche to make you happy, but not being a snob).

Hehe I would think that usually the child of the parents would be the one on this board if he or she has an S2000 or some other sports car. Or it could usually be the parent on this board who is the primary driver of the sports car. Just a thought.
