I bought my 16 year old an S2000
It scares me to imagine myself having a 200HP+ car at the age of 16-19. It's just crazy. Some kids can handle it I guess, but it is well worth buying a slower car as your first car and working your way up as the years go by. It's the only way to go IMO. But the world goes on either way.

True but after racing for 11 years and 13 years for the younger boy they will own shifter karts much faster than any street car ,like I said before second nature. Not like parents who cram 6 months of "driver training " before they let them loose on the street.
Judging by the tone of your replies your kid WILL probably think speed limits are stupid, everybody should drive high performance cars and any 'idiot' who hasn't raced profesionally should not be allowed on the roads..

I'm 15 years old and personally wouldn't have my parents buy me a car. I think that's very pathetic.
I do own an S2000 but I paid for it fully, along with every other car/mod I have.
I really think it's weak of someone to take a car from a parent. I'd rather drive a Cavalier I paid for myself then a Lamborghini Diablo Daddy bought me.
So I agree with this guy. To all the parents out there, what are you trying to do? Do you think your children will accomplish anything if you do everything for them?

[QUOTE=RobG35,Nov 17 2004, 10:48 AM] My first car was also a 1986 Porsche 944. I bought it with my money and a little help from my parents. Then as a High School Graduation present they bough a G35 coupe for me.
