Can you believe this bullsh*t. I received 4 traffic/parking citations over the past 2 weeks.

1st ticket was in front of a restaurant. Guess what, I forgot to feed the meter. This is the 3rd time I forgot to feed the stupid meter, same meter each time too! It's ok, it's only $10 right...

2nd ticket was across my gf's dorm. GF says she's hungry so I took her out to eat at 12:30am. It was pretty late, so I decided to stayed over at her place. Next morning I have a nice ticket for $30. Residential parking from 9am-6pm on one side of the street only.

Received the 3rd + 4th ticket on the same day. When I was about to sleep, my gf calls and says she's hungry so being the nice guy I am. I deliver a TOGO's BBQ chicken sandwich at 1am. My gf's loves me more if I'm early, so I decided to make a right turn on a "No turn on red" intersection. Out of nowhere a cop chases me down and issues me a moving violation for $75. He says don't worry you don't need to go to court, I'll give you specific instructions on how you can obtain your license back. I'm like who gives a flying f***, all I have to do is plead guilty and pay the fine right... The entire time he stands behind my car and asks me to pass my license/ins. card to him. His partner was on the other side searching through my car with his flashlight. If you're that chickensh*t don't become a cop. I'm sure a 5'8", 140lb, 20yr old Chinese kid sounds pretty threatening right? Anyways that night, I decided to stay over once again. I read the sign this time and it says "2hr parking 9am-6pm". So I'm like ok I parked on the correct side. The following morning I have a nice ticket for $25. I'm like what did I do this time? They must've made a mistake! Guess what, I didn't read a smaller sign about 15 feet away that has a bunch of different parking schedules. That is 100% gay! "No parking fridays 1am-8am Street cleaning", I'm like WTF!

After all this I was pretty pissed, so my nice gf says "I feel kinda bad cuz I feel like it was all my fault." That is priceless, you know. The least she could do is make me feel better for driving 20 miles up to join her. I think I'm going to get a lawyer to take car of all this now. Talk about luck....

P.S. This was in Evanston, IL, they have RHD Jeeps to issue tickets. I actually thought about popping the tires on the Jeeps by the traffic office just to get em back.

well, all those tickets sound like the result of plain old fashioned ignorance to me. meter runs out, twice failed to read parking signs AND a concious decision to violate a no turn on red intersection. Not your gf's fault in the least...it's all your own. I understand why you're so frustrated!!!

The thing is I never fed the meter to begin with. Both my gf and I walked past the meter all 3 times! Talk about being mindless.

Just a comment about the signs issue. If the sign is not in plain view, you can generally beat the ticket. My dad used to run a company that ticketed people parking in private lots (or lots which forbade parking if you weren't going into the business that owned the lot). He had a huge sign up right in front of the cars, but he lost thousands of dollars in tickets when the judge ruled that the sign was too easily missed (you tend to ignore things that aren't right in front of you, apparently). If this is the case for you (for instance, you're parked where you can't easily see the sign, or whatever), you should be able to show negligence on the part of those that put the sign up and thus get out of the ticket(s)...

Worth a shot.

Take some pictures as well, if you can. That helps a lot.
