Like the other guy said. . . the last time (oh, about 3 months ago) this rant came up, one member posted that he parks in the Disabled parking spot, hops out, people have, on occasion, started yelling at him. To which, he just pops his leg off and yells "Is that disabled enough for you?"
the other possibility is that they're picking up a person who's handicapped.
my cousin is handicapped (wheelchair/can't walk. Her parents drive around in an SUV to accommodate the wheelchair) and a couple of times I accompanied my uncle/aunt parked somewhere to pick her up, people look at us funny as we left the car.

Guilty! I have one of those handicap placards that was given to me when I was temporarily disabled. I'd only use it when parking is extremely crowded and handicap spaces are available. Sue me!

If it's that crowded and you take the last handicapped spot, then WTF is the real handicapped person supposed to do.
The ones that just kill me park in those spots when there is an open regular spot right next to it... and hop out of the car without any need for extra space. Even if they deserve the handicap spot, why take it away from someone else?
9 out of 10 times they're not picking anyone else up either. I see the guy or gal come and go when I go for lunch during the week. They just need a beat-down.

hmm...part of me feels like if you can walk fine, and function fine physically, and you still have a condition that warrants you having a handicapped tag, then maybe you shouldn't be driving. i sure has hell don't want someone who can walk and talk fine, but is legally blind on the road with me...
another situation is the "mommy to be" parking spots. maybe those aren't everywhere, but here in the good ol' NC we have them. i don't use them, but i have definitely seen other people use them....
