Default I need help with PDA Phone Comparison

Hey guys thanks in advance for the input in here. I'm really at a crossroads here on these damn phones

I'm the head in the Internet Sales Dept. of a Toyota Dealer. I receive a ton of emails on at least 3 work emails, one through an online based total dealership customer database that I receive emails at. It's a secure sight but as long as you know the user/pass it's just like a normal website, the other email is on another online website server which are emails that come from the dealership website, the other is a hotmail acct for our ebay sales. They are all password protected but easily accessible online.

I want to have these all forwarded to the phone since I'm not always in front of the computer and I'm not always at the office, but still need to forward on emails to different salespeople as well as the used car lot when I'm not there. I do receive alot of emails so I need a phone that will hold up and have the space and speed to handle it

I was able to look at both of these phones tonight in person at the sprint store but the regular Q on display wasn't charging right so it wouldnt' come all the way one I did like the navigation of the BB with the trackball. I wish I could have navigated the Q to see what all it has and how easy to navigate.

Thanks again for reading. I'm really torn on what to go for since they are the same price. The BB I think is the one that will be able to handle the job. I guess I'm wondering how and if the Q can do it. Since the Q does have some cool features on it too

....oh and I don't mean being able to get on the web on the phone, to check emails. I need them forwarded directly to the phone from the sites, which I know I can set up the emails to forward to the phone

Dan

My brother has a Q and he loves it. Similar situation, he's in charge of all internet sales for a large store that has only been online for about 6 months now. As he gets his emails, there's about a 10 second delay and his phone has them (been browsing s2ki on his computer while his gmail was open in another tab, I noticed the number on his inbox changed, a few seconds later his phone made a tone, I'm not actually stalking him and his work habits ) very clearly laid out. I'm close to making the switch myself, but the Voyager is making me have second thoughts. HIH.

I use my bb constantly for work and emails. I would say get the BB. I have used many phones with windows mobile on them such as the q and I think the blackberries are just much easier to use and more reliable. My blackberry gets emails before my computer does most of the time. Also the blackberry messanging outlay is so nice, you can read the previous messages you sent and your inbox in one area instead of having to switch back and fourth. I also have a t mobile dash(relabled htc excalibur) which runs on windows mobile just like the q and although it has more bells and whistles it just isnt as nice to use. Always lags all crazy and pisses me off. BB for the win.

if you can stand windows mobile consider htc.com
this is an asian company that makes the HP pda's and they have been doing it for some time

i was told from a friend who sold for t-mobile that the bb's were incredibly fast and perfect for getting alot of emails.

the q looks nice with the camera, and even the sprint tv stuff, but eventhough i want to have some fun with the phone, sitll need one that is efficient in what i need it to do for work, and personal messaging/calls.

this is getting really tough

i tried the Q when it first came it out and i didn't like it. it was good for web browsing, but for email it was clumsy, it would lock up, the back button didn't always go back, sometimes i'd have to hit a different button to get out of a menu. the keyboard was hard to type on, and the battery life was short.

so it made me really appreciate my bb, which at the time was a 7130e, easy to navigate with just one hand. since then my boss swapped me into a 8703e, but lately i've been trying the curve, which has crappy reception but i can do simultaneous data and voice over wifi at home, work, starbux, or any fedex/kinkos. i really only like it cause it has like 6 chat clients built-in. overall i think any blackberry would be a good choice for email

thanks bigygf! i do feel like the 8830 is where i'm moving towards with what i need it for eventhough i wish it had a camera and the BB pearl that does have one, doesn't look as functional for my needs

i guess i was just trying to get some type of evidence that the Q is much more better then the BB OS

even though the 8830 has a full keyboard, the keys are right next to each other and they're not raised so it's easy to press too many keys at once unless you type with the tips of your fingernails. the pearl has fewer keys but the keys are larger and i happen to prefer suretype as it kinda forces you to type in coherent english. honestly i primarily read email and i hardly ever reply cause i'm lazy, or i just reply on a pc. if you like to text in chopped words like a pre-teen then suretype isn't for you. but imo a pearl does just about everything a 8830 does

when i tried the early Q the performance, stability and battery life were lacking, plus the keyboard didn't feel all that great. perhaps the new one addresses those issues
