I've had a ridiculous amount of phones and the pearl is my favorite so far. It isn't huge like the 8830 or the q and it does everything you need it to do. You also get used to the funky keyboard in an hour or so.

i did find out today that my work emails system will only be compatible to email directly through the phones email forward system is any Blackberry's or Palm Pilot's. So the BB is the way to go imo, so I just need to figure out which BB phone (pearl or 8830) to get now

after using the curve for a while i went to play with the 8830 and it has a much more luxurious feel, eaiser to read long emails but the small size of the pearl seals the deal for me

if the size of the keys on the bb curve aren't too small for you, then its a great phone imo.

Take a visit to www.blackberryforums.com and www.pinstack.com both are good BB resources. The BB is not the most easy phone to learn but once you take the time to get past the initial stage it's a "great" device.

I prefer bbforums, honestly.

Here are a few more resources. They helped a ton in getting started.

http://blackberryfaq.com

Stinsodog on the bbforums has an excellent faq as well. Here is the link but his comcast service is down atm:
