If you haven't used a headset before I would suggest getting a very cheap one to see if you actually use it. I paid $15.00 for mine and never really use it, making $15 the perfect price.

The higher quality units like the jawbone and some of the Moto's are much better pieces with better sound quality.

I've heard good things about the jawbone but some folks seem to think it's over hyped as well. One common complaint is that it's difficult to put on.
