I need help with a Research Project (IT FIELD... help)
My english teacher is making me do a research project on our majors. My major is Management Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. She wants us to describe the jobs and some other stuff I couldn't understand. The only problem I am having is that I can't find any good job titles to write about for the MIS majors
Like Network Anaytais(sp) or something. Someone give me some ideas, and please excuse my spelling

Write about compiler theory and compiler construction....or write about the history of assembler language.
That'll sure bore the living daylights and be over your professor's head...you'll get an 'A' for sure.
If it's job titles you have to do a paper on, then find an unemployed IT worker. Have him talk about where he went to school, what his major was, how he was recruited into IT, his IT work experiences (not his skills, but his actual emotional experiences), his experience of when he was let go, why he was let go, and what he does in his spare time as an unemployed IT worker.
Also reference the movie 'StartUp.com' a lot.

"Actually working for a company called ****** as a consultant.
I do high-end network design and enterprise networking. From networking, routing, layer 2, security, etc.
There are so many areas now you can branch off from. There is networking (mine), servers, security, storage (SAN), UNIX, Microsoft, LINUX, databases, etc.
They all have their specializations."

PT....I'd be more than happy to talk with you more. My title doesn't really tell you what I do, but I'm basically a Network Engineer.
IT - Network Administrator, Security Consultants
Programming - Business Analyst, Web design
