I just learned a lot from this thread, you guys have too much time.

Today I had academic advising to see what I wanted to major in, in order to pick my path. So I was told I can major in IST, MIS, or Comp Sci for technology major. I've already canceled Comp Sci. out of the picture, my question is MIS or IST? Anyone can point me in the right direction? I like to learn database and networking. I've been around computers since the stone age and have been a avid enthusiast of PC's. I want a good steady job within these fields, yet still contemplating on which to go into to make a good living such as some of the people i know.

Ok what's the difference between MIS and IST? MIS is mostly business and IST is more what?
