I need a new RPG!
I am getting quite bored with Everquest and play it maybe once every 2 weeks. I have been playing Anarchy Online, but I'm tired of Funcom's crap, and they make it seem as if developing and supporting this game is merely their hobby and not their jobs. I need a new MMORPG, any ideas? I'm not looking for Diablo 2 type games, that is not an RPG, it's an action game. I know there are some very promising RPG's coming out by mid next year but I'm looking for something that is out now. Ideas anyone?
Check out Dark Ages of Camelot... it's gone gold, and should be out next week... Most of the EQ players I know are really considering jumping to DAOC. Personally, I think I'll hold out for Neverwinter Nights.
If you don't mind paying $10 a month, and text-based. The Eternal City is the way to go. Check out http://www.skotos.net/games/eternal-city
I've been playing for over a year now and Im still addicted.

Hey Skitz what server do you play on? (char info, level, class/race) Just curious...
Btw...The Shadows of Luclin is coming out in later in the year if you are still into EQ then. (New race, class, Zones, Dungeons, World, graphics...and then some)

Thanks for the info guys and sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread... I didn't come to work yesterday and I'm not on s2ki at home much.
I will definately check out Dark Ages of Camelot on Gamespot as soon as I post this. I don't play EQ very often but on Prexus I have a 26 Warrior and 26 Mage as my two highest, and 6 other characters between 10 and 20. I'm not really into the console RPG's as they haven't been multiplayer in the past.
I'm in the beta test for Dawn but they are having problems finding a sponsor that can hang with their contraversial ideas, such as permanent death. The idea for the game is very cool, but people are wondering if they can pull it off. They want a editable terrain system so people can dig trenches around the castles that they build one wall at a time. They want it so deep of an RPG where killing each other would be just plain crazy. People would actually make their living through services. They said when you started out you would actually have to chop down trees for lumber to build your own house. A permanent death game with no safe zones or guards or NPC's at all besides wildlife? No wonder they are having problems. I started rambling but the bottom line is that they don't have the funding to finish the game so they have to work on a smaller version to convince the big wigs that they can pull it off and make it a hit.

Ok so I hit gamestop.com and the game looks really cool, but it also seems that it is just another hack n slash rpg like Everquest. I called up Gamestop and the game came out yesterday and they are sold out but due to get more about 1-2 this afternoon. I'm gonna run by and pick one up if they aren't sold out by the time I get off of work. Thanks Flayer!
Ahh Flayer did you get your alias from the little baddies in Diablo 2? I hate those little guys, so annoying heh.

DAOC seems like more "clan" oriented which will make it different than Everquest. Yeah, I've been playing EQ for a LOOOONNNGGG time now (got 2 lvl 51 chars, and several alts). Since I've already invested so much time in EQ, I am looking forward to the Shadows of Luclin expansion. Neverwinter nights will be awesome if you like the baldur's gate series, but won't be out
until next year.
As for my username, I've been using it since I was a kid playing AD&D.... always thought the monster "MindFlayer" was cool.
Sometimes, we just never grow up.
