Default i wasn't the 2nd owner!! legal issues? or my own stupidity?!

so...

in june of 2003, i've finally decided to trade my accord in for a 2001 yellow s2k which i currently own...
the problem is, as i have just figured out, that i was not smart enough to be more critical about things...

this dealer was emphasizing that the car was only owned by one person and is even certified by Honda and blah blah blah.....
when i asked for a carfax, he said that i had to make sure to get the deal since it costs like 20 bucks each... he said he WAS GOING TO get it for me... but then kinda skipped it....

so i got to drive her home and didn't worry about anything since it was "Certified by Honda" and "only one owner" according to the dealer..

i just checked at the carfax and found that that the car was originally sold in Arizona(i'm in Washington state!) and it was sold to another person in Washington state in 2002 and then driven for about 10,000 miles(1year)... and then was relocated to the shop where i got the car from....

it really pisses me off because the dealer was so clearly emphasizing the fact that it was only owned by ONE person... (well, i dunno if that doesn't matter to some people)....

can i legally do something about it or just blame on my own stupidity?

Complain to the dealer and, if they have a great customer satisfaction policy, they may compensate you in some way...Honestly, I think you're being a little too anal, although I can definetly understand disappointment!!

Check with the Honda dealer though because if they're right and CarFax is wrong, thats worth $5,000!

I don't think you have any recourse. Hopefully, your S was never in an accident and is problem free. Good luck.

Unfortunatly if its not on paper, you don't have a lot of options.

Hopefully if they are a decent dealer, and he honestly made a mistake then they may make it right,

If the carfax says nothing about accidents, I would gather the second owner defaulted and it was repossesd.. not a big deal as far as you're concerned
