Lol! I thought I was the only one that thought that. Everytime I see someone with a bluetooth headset, Lobot comes to my mind (lame star wars character). Driving is a different issue, but for cryin out loud!

Walking around, they get a call, they pull their cell phone out, to check who it is, then they pull their bluetooth gizmo out, attach it, press the button talk, pull the phone back out to hang up, place phone back in pocket, remove bluetooth, place bluetooth back in pocket. Lame. Are they really too lazy to lift the miniscule phone a few inches?

Yes!

Also, i'm not sure when it became socially acceptable to listen to portable music players while hanging out with friends. I see this all the time, a group of friends is hanging out at the pool hall, a bar, outside, wherever, and one of them has his goddamn ipod in the whole time. If I were his friend I would have smashed the thing on the iConcrete a long time ago.

My iPod comes out when i'm at the gym. That's it.

I'm writing this from marketing class.
isn't it equally disrespectful to be surfing the web and posting in S2KI while you're in class?? i'm sure your instructor wouldn't be too fond of what you are doing if he/she knew about it.

if you have to put on and take off the headset each and every time you get a call, then it defeats the purpose of the headset, cuz you might as well just hold up the phone instead. also, by the time you're done fumbling with the headset to put it on, the call would have forwarded to voicemail already. leaving the headset on is for convenience and praticality, and is the reason they were invented. sure many people leave them on to look "cool", but many other people do benefit from leaving them on, cuz they get calls frequently enough to make it a hassle to have to put the thing on and off each time.

and for the record, i DON'T own a bluetooth headset...

well, we live in a market economy and if there are people out there that are willing to spend a premium on something they want now that is difficult to get their hands on at that moment, then who is to say they are retards?? everyone has their own monetary value of certain items and just because a certain individual feels its worth paying 2-3 times the retail price to have the item immediately then that's just their own personal value. as for the people who stand in line to buy the PS3s and auction them off on ebay for a profit, what they are doing is really no different from the fundamental entrepeneurial sprit. these people see an oportunity, and they choose to take advantage of it. threre's absolutely nothing wrong with that. but ultimately it's not "free" profit cuz they do have to spend the time to stand in line to get their hands on the PS3. so if they feel the time and hassle they have to spend is worth the few hundred dollars they make, then it's money well earned. and if the time and hassle the buyer saves for not having to stand in line is worth the few extra hundred dollers they have to spend, then it's money well spent.
