I gave up beef ever since seeing a slaughterhouse video. I haven't really missed it.

Can't quite give up chicken as I find I stay hungry w/o the dense protein of meat. Also can't give up fish because it's shown to be so healthy.

Animal cruelty has nothing to do with eating meat imo. Its not right, but I'm not giving up meat because of it. Meat is great.

What use is there for cattle and poultry other then being eaten? If we stopped the meat industry, cows, pigs, chickens, etc. will most likely die out since there is no real place left in this ecosystem for those animals anymore. Also, if the meat industry is stopped, how many jobs will be lost?

As a hunter I prefer to kill my own meat. From doves (damn tasty tacquitos) to pig, deer, bear.

What's the difference between a animal tossed in a shredder to make a tasty burger and one that got ripped to shreds in the wild. Dead is dead, don't make no difference how you got there.

For those who don't eat meat, thanks more meat for me

Animal cruelty is BS. People just don't use their brains and swallow hippie crap.

If you don't want to eat meat, fine, but know this.....

1)You cannot be healthy without eating meat. Meat, especially red meat, contains vital amino acids and nutrients which you can't get from any vegetable. Unless you are going to swallow 15 pills a day like a drugged up idiot, you will not be ingesting what the human body needs to maintain proper metabolism and digestion...not to mention, a healthy immune system and blood status.

2)Understand how "mass meat production" works. Farmers are business men/women. Livestock in the US and abroad is produced for money, not for subjects for photographers to shoot. Hippies always cry that everyone should stop eating meat. Ok, let's dissect this for a second. Suppose everyone will stop eating meat. What are the farmers going to live on? Livestock costs money to upkeep. They will sell the livestock to other mediums, like football factories, BMW, Alpo, etc etc etc. Your cause is completely lost and hopeless. Basically, you are saying "Let's stop eating meat, and throw farmers out on the street."

3)Cruelty to animals. Again, people need to use their brains. In Russia (where I'm from) if you wanted to eat chicken for dinner, you take one of your live chickens you have growing in your backyard, and bring him to your local butcher for slaughter. Your chicken might even have a name, like Bertha. Now, I can understand you feeling a little upset if you are bringing a live chicken to your butcher, hearing the noise, then carrying home a dead bird. However, in the US, that's not the case. In the US, you walk into your local supermarket, and find any part you like, conveniently wrapped in plastic with a blood cloth ready for you to make stir fry. Where is the cruelty. It's already dead, cut up, and wrapped up. What are you solving? Are you making a statement? What statement is that?

To finalize, not eating meat is either stupid (those who do it for health reasons) or a dumb way to get rid of your own non-existent guilt (those who don't eat it due to cruelty reasons.) The only people I won't rip are those who don't eat it for religious reasons (Jews, Hindus, Muslims, etc).

As for the video, nothing more than isolated propaganda. I can show you videos of happy animals frolicking in the grass, and say all meat is humanely produced. Moreover, I can show you a video of a fine sports car smacking into a 5 year old girl at 100mph, and tell you all sports cars are evil, and cause death. Surely your minds aren't that feeble that a dumb propaganda video can convince you of something so broad can it?

And no, there really is no good health benefits of eating red meat.
Entirely false, and there are PLENTY of health benefits. It isn't that cut and dry. It depends on the type of red meat, the cut of red meat, and the freshness of red meat.

Just to take a small example, and I don't mean this as a racist comment of any kind, just educational....

I have gone to school with MANY religious Hindus. 95% of them, were VERY skinny. Now, red meat has a decent dose of amino acids required for muscle buildup. Creatine is one of them. Not eating red meat causes a very "Holocaust Survivor" look. Take a look at MANY "hippies"....they have that same look to them.

P.S.
While many don't know this, vegetables lose over 60% of their nutritional value when refrigerated, and lose another 30% when cooked. Now, how many percent of US vegetables are refrigerated?

If God didn't want us to eat animals, then why'd he make them so tasty?

I've only watched the first bit of the video cause I just ate and I'm preparing myself, haha.

But what I did notice is that supposedly chickens are one of the most abused food animals. So if your reasoning behind not eating meat is cruelty, then WHY are you still eating chicken? That kinda negates your whole purpose since your still eating something thats abused.

I don't have any problem with people not eating meat. Its their choice, so w/e. But it does cause long term health issues because of a lack of important nutrients not found in vegetables. And like it was said, unless your eating vegetables that are fresh out of the ground and not cooked then your not getting enough nutrients. You'd have to eat flinstone vitamins like a crack addict.
