^ I agree 100% I am glad that I acheived the goal of becoming an Airline pilot at the age of 25, however i I feel like I am way too talented of a person to continue this sub-par career.......

yeah, having an m3 and a sick loft would be pretty shitty. dunno how people live like that.

Happiness is very subjective. While happiness to sahtt is complete financial freedom, maybe to someone else making a decent living, having the nice apt in the city, and a nice car to go with it, while not over exerting themselves is happiness to them. I don't think it's fair to judge people because their way of life is different from your view of "ideal" and "smart"

im pretty happy and i make close to 100k. i should be above that when i graduate in January b.c i cant fully maintain my business the way i want to while taking full time classes.

However, owning your own business does suck in some ways. My business cannot be given to a third person to manage. you have to do everything yourself or someone you really trust. So taking vacations is difficult; etc. I mean most people think you can take a vacation or a break whenever you want when you own a business but you lose money if you do lol. If my father cant come and look after my share of the business then i just lose the $$ from my clients. If im not there my clients go to someone else. This can mean you lose anywhere from $100-$10000 in sales. So business does have its pitfalls. However, building a business and seeing it flourish through your hardwork does have its advantages also.

Im already trying to get out of my business (import). I have been saving for the past year to open up some franchise retail stores ive been looking into for some time. They require low management. So theoretically i could make $100k+ while working part time hours. Which is my real dream so i have the time to do more important things in life, Aka girlfriend, friends, partying, and being a big part of my NGO. Im ok with grinding it out and working hard for some years if later on that gives me some financial security and less hours worked later on.

my brother rejected a CEO job offer and $3M salerie to be a cop.

hes got his pride, loves what he does and is proud of himself that he helps make society (at least the city he patrols) safer for its residents.

Most days I enjoy my job. But I wouldn't be there if I didn't need the money. The only way I'd intentionally take a pay cut to move to a different job was if that job somehow involved much shorter hours, more vacation, and a more scenic location.
I know that I want to retire in my 50s, and so I'm working towards that goal. Even if I didn't like my job right now, I think it's unlikely that I'd move to a job where i had to take much of a pay cut, because I feel like the suffering would pay off in the long run.
