What is inherently good about knowing more than one language (especially if that one language is English)?
If you live in a cave then knowing only one language is perfectly fine. However, if you live in any of the 10 largest cities in the U.S. you'll be amaze how knowing a second language will give you such a big advantage in your career = life. Especially if that second language is Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, French, and/or Vietnamese.

I think I understand what Mingster is trying to say and I completely agree with him. While as a whole English is the dominant language here in America. However, being that we are so diverse with many cultures and ethnicities that knowing second, third, fourth or more languages can only help you. Especially when your family background did not used English as the primary language. I'm not saying English should be the secondary language, but if your ethnicity spoke anything but English I think it would be a shame to lose it and not speaking it.
