vista ultimate 64
custom built

thanks in advance
Look in your system event log. Read the events that have Red X's, see if you find anything conclusive.

Open your windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file with notepad, the only entry should be for 127.0.0.1

Try to manually browse to the microsoft.com/windowsupdate and see if that works. Try and run a windows defender scan. If you don't have windows defender, download and install it.

Also remove Firefox. It had more security vulnerabilities last year than IE8. Fail.

Vista requires you have at least half a brain to operate it. Sorry bro.

Another person just had issues like this. Change wireless channels.

I recently had router issues. My boss gave me a $25 coupon for Staples. They had the Cisco E2000 on sale for $80. Free shipping, a little tax, and I had a new Wireless N Gigabit router the next day for $59.

**DING DING DING**

Ok I tried plugging PC on a different port but still same issues. Changing channels wouldn't help since I'm not using the wireless. This belkin piece of trash, tried updating it but it wouldn't
