Well, you made the decision to introduce her to your friend so live with that decision. I assume that the friend and this girl are dating? If so, those feelings will just have to remain in check.

No they're not dating. They're just chatting with each other. Meanwhile she and I are continuing to hang out with each other.

If they're just friends then, you would have carte blanche to make a move. EBGTMFW (early bird gets the mother f'ing worm).

Thanks! I'm not trying to create a war here but trying to see how one can salvage the situation?

Ev, you're a super nice guy so i see this as two things right now...

1. the people who are pissed at you are incredibly immature, at which point there isn't much you can do to salvage the situation other than backing off and letting the other guy get played by this girl, who will end up w/ you in the end... and you'll still be called a jerk because of that

2. there's something missing in the story. either the girl and the guy had something, or the girl was leading the guy on the entire time, or something...

its hard for me to thing that late 20's people can be this immature about something like this anymore... however i have been completely wrong at time.

she's not tied down.. and not an ex of either? Then it's all fair game, and if he's crying about it... she'll soon see how insecure he is, wantone will have the girl... car guy will hate wantone... oh well.. nobody needs haters around them anyways.

I'd continue on and ignore the jealous. You'll come out of it alright.

Mike, I think there's a third option

- the girl liked wantone, but as he said he wasn't originally interested.. she may be somewhat interested in the other guy too... so she's feeling both out... no big surprise there. Why should he back off? If you like the girl, let her know... don't even address the other guy, confidence trumps all, and true confidence might not even acknowledge the other guy as a threat (that's the attitude I would carry anyhow, do whatever is natural)

go to the gym and take some karate lessons. then beat him up once and for all, if he wants to be immature about it. additionally, u can tell him to stop gettin drunk off haterade and quit eating hatertots for breakfast.
