ok, though i work for Verizon, and you all think i am here to bash the iphone that is not my intent.

I love the Iphone, I think it is going to do really well. The problem i see is this.

it is too big for the average consumer. Remember how phones use to be really big, and people wanted it smaller so it didn't look like they were carrying a brick with them? well, the IPhone is about the size of one. For those people who carry a BB or a Treo, you tell them. Do you really want to go to the beach, the movies, a bar..etc.. with one attached to your hip? How about you ladies? try fitting an IPhone inside a clutch. I would imagine you carrying a cluch with you go out, instead of a huge sack. Otherwise, size is fine for you.

The outside screen. How many people already scratched or broke their IPod screen? imagine you breaking your IPhone a few weeks or months later. The entire phone is touch pad. It will not work if the LCD is cracked so how will you use it? you just bought yourself a 600 coaster.

Battery life, With all the advanced gagets Steve Jobs threw into the IPhone, you would think he would allow you to attach an external battery, but nooooo... hopefully some aftermarket company will create a way to use one.

Data quality. WiFi is great, if you plan on staying at a starbucks or Barnes and Noble. But when you travel, EDGE is pretty darn slow.

WHY DO PEOPLE REALLY NEED ALL THAT STUFF???

do we really need something that will do everything for us? serious.. i rather have something simple, and if i want to listen to music, get a MP3 or IPod, camera, i have my SLR, organizer, write it down... granted, an all in one device sounds nice, but i rather not put everything into one basket and risk the chance of losing all my data...

On that note, i hope VZ does come out with that IPhone Killer that LG has... would be nice to offer up something to compete against ATT?Cingular?whatever new name they want next month?
the iphone is about half the width of a bb and just a little longer than the razor. its not as bulky as you think.

the screen durability is just like any other multimedia phone on the market if not better. all phones and electronics that are handheld will get scratched. the entire phone is not a touchpad, but a very large portion is. Btw the rzr when first introduced was selling for 500 dollars. So 600 is really no big deal if you want the best.

there is no way of replacing the internal battery as of now. but its when the ipod first came out. i am sure a few months down the road a batterly replacement kit will be released by a third party or hacker kid if not by apple.

all electronics will become obsolete at some point, therefore i think of them as almost disposable. my ipod nanos batteries are starting to fade and cant really hold a charge. I expected it to happen when I bought the thing. when it runs out i am gonna throw it away and spend another 200 dollars.

this phone isnt for everyone. its for cool and rich people only.

lets just put it this way... with an unlimited budget and 10 years, LG, moto, or nokia would never be able to come up with the awesome interface, quality, and capabilities of this phone. when it comes out, you will be blown away and will want one.

i cant wait till apple releases the iphone mini or the iphone nano.

I was gonna get it, but now I'm going to keep a regular phone, and buy a Archos with wifi instead.

Not much of an issue when all the applications will be web-based. Nothing to download, noting to install, no storage required, patches and updates are applied to the server hosting the app, not to your phone. Just point the built-in browser to the URL of the app you need and you're all set.

This device can't be looked at the same way previous PDAs and smartphones have been.

What a waste of money! A phone should only be a phone and not a music player or web browser. Why? A battery doesn't last long with playing music and browsing the web, and when it comes time to make an emergency call, battery's dead. My phone has a music player but I never used the phone for anything else other than making calls. For other stuff, I have other things for them. Phones should only be reserved for making and receiving calls and not bells and whistles. But I think I'm in the minority here.
