Default iphone with verizon?

One of my co-workers told me that the iphone was going to be released with verizon next year? I hope this is true cause I've been wanting to get one for a while but have been stuck in a my contract. Anyone know for sure if this is happening?

i'm fairly certain of this - iphone + at&t signed an exclusive deal for x years, and that is about to be up... that's why the rumors about verizon. . if the exclusive deal is up, maybe they'll make contracts with other providers.

can theoretically support up to 100Mb/s as opposed to 20 something with 3G. (my numbers might be slightly off).

Also, in the case of verizon, 4G requires them to finally use GSM and not the outdated CDMA technology they use now.

4g is years off, don't let verizon and sprint fool you that they have 4g networks. a true 4g network would be utilizing LTE. the carriers that are stating they are upgrading to 4g is actually closer to 3.5g also known has HSDPA.

hell, they don't even have a handsets that can be used on a LTE system...
