Yeah watch out for unlocking your iphone. After a recent update, many unlocked (hacked) iphones turned into bricks. Once they are bricks your SOL.


FWIW, I plan on getting an iphone once they drop another 50-100 dollars I think then I can justify the price.

 

i have an iphone and it's great. i didn't unlock it. The apps available for the unlocked were okay but nothing i couldn't live without. I do wish the ringtone thing was easier. YOu can only make ringtone songs with certain songs bought off on itunes only.

Phones often come configured to work with only a specific provider - ATT, Verizon, whatever. That's considered a "locked" phone. "Unlocking" a phone means to modify it such that a SIM card from any provider will work, even overseas.

 

name iphone just sounds much more neat rather than the other phone whose name sounds like some code for nuclear missle launch.
