iPod help! (mac to windows conversion)
i recently acquired a 5gb ipod (first gen) which back in the day was only for macs. i found and downloaded a bunch of apps that supposedly work for the 10gb+ but i cant find any information in my research that says that it'll work for the 1st gen 5gb's.
the easiest way to upgrade the HFS+ file structure on the iPod is to use apple's win updater and reformat the iPod to FAT32, thus making it into an external HD for win machines.
while all that sounds easy and grand, will it work for the 5gb iPod too?? those instructions are all over the internet, but in regards to the 10gb+ ipods.
if there is anyone on the board who has done this upgrade and could assist me, i'd really really appreciate it!
thanks!

Hi Brian, I've had a 2nd Generation 10 gig iPod since May and absolutely love it! Just bought a new 3rd Gen 20gig with my new Powerbook so I'll be selling the other.
I don't have the exact answer to your question but can steer you in the right direction. Check out iPod lounge:

Good Site, I bet you can find the answer there. Another good one you may want to check out is:

If you have an Apple retail store near you they could help out. I've found the people at the one near me very helpful and friendly.
Good luck.
