It's Your Funeral......
I went to cut the grass at the weekend leaving Jan listening to Classic FM on the radio whilst she was ironing. 10 minutes into the job she comes out and motions me to turn off the mower.
She very earnestly says "If I go (as in croak) before you do, I want you to remember that I'd like 'Barber's Adagio for Strings' played at my funeral service... now don't forget" and goes back to her ironing.... WTF
Well she's 10 years younger than me so I don't really fancy my chances but it got me thinking. What would I like played at MY funeral. Well I'm not a big fan of Wagner but I love 'Siegfried's Funeral March' This piece was the choice of Winston Churchill for HIS funeral and it was played over loudspeakers as his coffin was drawn through the streets on a gun carriage.
At the moment I think I'm leaning towards Adagion in Gm (Albinoni)
So what do want played at your funeral? There's no real ground rules for this by the way, I recently attended a funeral where the coffin went through the curtains to Frank Sinatra singing 'My Way' There wasn't a dry eye in the house and they weren't crying

I like my funeral to be short and sweet. Throw my ashes into the ocean, no ceremony, no words, no music, just a good bye.

Can I have your car
What a bizarre subject, but then again I can relate. A buddy of mine was on a long driving trip and when he got back he tells me he wrote my eulagy..Well I was a little of put, but then we were talking about it, and I came to the conclusion that I don't want anyone balling, or feeling bad when I go. I made everybody promise that when my time comes they are gonna throw one big party!, music, dancing, alcohol. I think it would be great to have everybody I know and love get together, tell stories about me, laugh at what a fool I can be sometimes. Funerals can be so depressing. maybe my ideas in bad taste, but hey ITS MY FUNERAL
