i've been working at this korean rest. for past couple of months.

sat and fri evening, and all day sun.

no stress, good experience, good people, no problem with school schedule and letting me to have some extra spending money while i pay for my s2000- basically, i was having fun.
i think i worked pretty hard as far as my duties were concerned-

today, the owner of the rest. call me around 9: 30 pm.
she says i now have to show up only sat, and sun evening.
basically, my 21 hour/ w job turned into 11 hour/ w job.

can she do that?
i mean, i wish that she had told me at least a month ahead, so that
i can plan my income/ spending accordingly.
telling me two days before my new shifts start is a little unfair, isn't it?
IS IT... even... LEGAL?

um, ur a casual, in australia, casual workers basically have little rights in terms of there employment. u might be lucky as u still have a job.
maybe u should talk to the employer and see what the go is, maybe times r tough or ur wage rate increased so he needed to find cheaper employees. i sure as hell know that i cut costs wherever possible and wages r the beginning

this is far from illegal. cutting back hours is no new thing. only thing you can do is ask her if you can make up the hours somehow (weekdays maybe) or find another job. sorry dude.

wow, i never had this kind of experience from my privious part time jobs- i had no idea.
i'll stick to this place tho.. all night long i was thinking whether i should find another place or not...
school year started so finding a job is so hard around my town.

thank you, blacks2k and nHobbes.
