I used to hate Judge Judy till I saw her on some talk shows and do cameos on TV shows. She's actually is quite charming and funny outside of her "courtroom."

Whoever thinks this wasn't a scam, I hope you get caught by something like this. It is quite a scam. I haven't seen the add, but it's easy to hide little things in adds like this.

It's unfortuante that they won't pay a cent of the 5000 dollars because these shows pay the judgements, not the individuals on them. They just agree to let Judge Judy decide and get berated on TV.

Oh yeah, the Daughter is hot!

The bitch should be in prison.

I've personally met a lot of scammers in my life.... and I don't know of any lower scum on the earth.

if you havent't seen the ad how can you make such a comment?
Regardless of the ad, as he said, chances are it was hidden within the text somewhere. Its obviously a scam (IMO).

If something like this caught you by suprise (spending 500 dollars for a stupid picture) I doubt you'll say "oh well, I bought it," your going to say its a scam.

It's easy to make a comment like this. I said I did not see her add, but it is easy to hide things in the adds. I have seen adds where people did try this crap. I've been an avid ebayer for several years and have been ripped off once maybe twice in about 150 transactions.

Is this really true? I've heard the participants get a few hundred bucks each, but the show doesn't pay for the verdicts.

Looking at that tiny woman, Judge Judy, is enough to scare me. Her cheeks are sucked in, her eyes are popped out, her teeth are shown to bite, and her posture is always ready to pounce.

This is what I found online:

"All of the syndi-court shows keep a low profile on how much money the litigants receive, but from what I can ascertain, "Judge Judy" pays both parties an appearance fee and picks up the cost of airfare and hotel rooms.

The settlements are harder to pin down, but from what I can determine, it works this way: Say you sue someone for $2,000 in damages. The producers set aside $2,000 to pay you in case you win. You are only able to persuade Judge Judy that the defendant owes you $1,000, so the show pays you the $1,000, and the remaining $1,000 in the pot is split between you and the defendant.

When all is said and done, you walk away with an appearance fee, free airfare and lodging, and $1,500. The defendant, meanwhile, has the appearance fee, airfare/hotel and $500. If you are awarded the full $2,000, the defendant receives only the appearance fee and expenses.

Even if you fail to prove your case, you still end up with half of the claim fund, as does the defendant.

And that's precisely why people line up to be humiliated by Judge Judy. Not only can they make a tidy sum, but defendants aren't out a cent in damages and the judgment isn't recorded in court. It's a win-win situation, except for possibly getting berated by Judge Judy."
