I have a pair of AKG 701's that needed ridiculous amount of burn in. And boy oh boy do they need to be sourced and amped up the ying yang. BTW, I take it the Sony naysayers haven't heard the MDR-R10 or the Qualia 010... 
Not saying they're the best (vote goes to Sennheiser Orpheus or some other fun little plaything), but they're far from the "crappy" pov that you have since you haven't experienced true top end sony.

I see that my thread has been brought back from the dead. 
I'm very much enjoying my Triplefi earphones that I paid $50 for. 
Not sure if they were fully broken in but they sound more than good enough, so it doesn't matter anymore.
As for the Sony topic, I'll just let the pictures do the talking. Not another electronics company has a full variety of such nice products. The naysayers can say whatever crap they want, but the fact is that Sony is the most-respected electronics brand around the world. Sure, their products don't rule in every respective category, but they are very nice and good in general. The XBR series has been at the top of the LCD world for many years (plasma is a different technology market).
That's enough for now. And I'm married, so no more going out and getting pussy. I'm not Tiger Woods, thank you very much. LOL!

P.P.S. From my personal observation, in general, Asians love Sony and rednecks don't like or hate the brand. I don't know why that is. Go to any rich Asian household and 90% chance of likelihood you'll find a Sony TV in their home.
