Why do you have to redo his section, that's his responsibility. By redoing it yourself all you are doing is enabling him to get away with being a slacker.
I agree completely...

However, I've been in PLENTY of situations where I did work for others because I was stuck with them in some group work and I wanted an "A." Unfortunately, I've earned a few "A"s for others that were not deserving. It sucks bigtime, but that's just the way it is sometimes.

In some of my classes where group work was an expectation, I ran across a novel idea for fair grading...

The project, whether it be a paper, presentation, whatever, is graded. That is the average grade for the group.

Then, each group member submits a performance evaluation on his/her group members.

The averages of the performance evaluations are then used to adjust the grades for the individual group member relative to each other.

So for instance... If the project grade was 85%. Rather than each group member receiving a grade of 85%, each member's grade would be adjusted based on the performance evaluations. However, the grades from all of the group members will average at 85%. So in reality, a member that put in more effort than other group members, may actually be able to get and "A" out of a project grade of 85%, while a member that put it a lot less effort my get a "C," or even lower.

As a member that usually took the initiative to not only do at LEAST my "fair share" AND then peice everyone else's work together into one project, I liked this method.

Shoulda told him to rewrite it before you turn his part in with all the stuff he copied. Plagiarism depending in school would usually mean failing the class is the best case scenario for him. <- That sentence reads kind of weird to me.. but my brain is fried from writing my paper.. only 3 pages to go x.x
