i like eating at the typical chinese food places.... seshwan chicken, etc....... but this shit sucked..... nothing like a bowl of toilet water with some carrots, tasteless chicken and some wormy noodles......

Mingster - that sounds like exactly the same yuck that they put on our table. it was like an episode of Fear factor.
I did put that seaweed crap in my mouth, but it came back out pretty damned fast!

it's a matter of taste Scot. the little dishes are my wife and my favorite: usually with kimchi, seaweed (dipped in a little vinegar and sugar), seasoned daikon, sliced daikon in mayo, potato salad, white jello dipped in a little tsuyu (soy sauce and vinegar, i think).
i like korean tofu pot, korean bbq, raw-beef bibimpba, regular beef bibimpba in stone bowl, and i love korean women
korean food is good stuff, you just have to know what to order

if you guys want to eat some REAL chinese food, you gotta head out to San Gabriel Valley or Rowland Hts/Diamond Bar area in SoCal. The variety is amazing (better than the bay area IMHO)
List of my favorites:
1. Chinese (all regions)
2. Japanese (all regions - I prefer Kansai style food better)
2.5 Korean (almost tied with Japanese food)
3. All American food (fast food, slow food, whatever)
- Gotta put in hush puppies and other southern foods, they're fat but they're GOOD.
4. Italian (Americanized)

My list...
1. American (steak, potatoes, cheeseburgers, anything with red meat)
2. Mexican (:inhomersimpsonsvoice: Mmmmmmm Nachos)
3. Italian (I love pasta!)
4. Chinese
Not a big fan of Japanese food. My Dad's side of my family is Japanese and at family gatherings I skip the sushi and go for the chips and dip.

You know what, it's petty and ignorant to step into one restaurant, order one thing, and say, I'll never try Korean food ever. I mean, I've eated some nasty tacos, antipastos, sushi, pad thai, etc, but it's just stupid to say, I won't eat Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Thai food, EVER AGAIN!
Korean food isn't summed up with bowl of soup, go try some other stuff, maybe the BBQ would better suit your American palate.
In the meantime, I think I'm gonna go get some of that "toilet water" you talked about, maybe a bit of dog chowder, and pig head... yummmmm...

my wife tried some kind of chicken stuff..... we didn't really like it either....... so.... NO MORE KOREAN FOOD EVER.

I can't imagine a very large Korean population in the area to create a large demand for "good" Korean food. It's like I'm driving out in BFE and see a Chinese restaurant (there's always 1), there's no way I'm gonna try it.
