Default laptop docking station troubles

Hi

I just got a Dell Latitude D600. I ordered a docking station from Ebay so I can use the monitor and keyboard at work. It said it took a PA-10 power adaptor so I bought one of those as well on Ebay. I thought I was soooo slick!

After unplugging/plugging everything into the docking station I thought I had everything set and then this popped onto the screen: "Your system is docked, but the AC Adaptor type cannot be determined. Either undock or insert an appropriate adaptor."

The docking station works, or I wouldn't get the message and the adaptor works because I plugged it into my laptop and it was fine, but all together, it does not work.

Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? Or how to tell what is working? It is so frustrating! The only thing worse than computer problems are car problems! And since I got the items from Ebay, it's not like there's a technical support line.

I'd appreciate any help! Thanks a million

~Kristin

The D600 docking station uses a PA-10 family type power cord, and it should have this model#: PA-1900-02D. While the laptop itself uses a PA-12. Try double checking the model#
