Lasik eye surgery...
A few points to consider-
Awesome - I should have done it earlier!

Enough of that:
Worth the $4K by far. I had glasses, contacts, prescription sunglasses, eye appointments etc. for 30 years......add it all up and that was way more expensive.
Check out everyone in your town and go with the best one..........not the cheapest.
Surgery took about 15 minutes on the laser, some tugging of your eye while doing the slitting.
Recovery is about 3-4 hours before you're up and around.
I did'nt have a problem, but I heard some people have dry eyes afterwards, especially older white females.
You'll still reach for your glasses on the night stand in the morning for a while.
No more headaches from tired eyes. No more fogged glasses coming in from the cold.
Oh and yes, ...I have perfect vision now.
And to MVF4S's point, I would'nt expect your neighborhood Mall/Vision Care Center Optometrist to be sending customers away to get Lasik either....you are their livelyhood! They want to sell glasses, contacts and check your eyes every 2 years!

If you do a search, I have a couple posts about it, best thing I've ever done..
You might also consider a trip to Canada for the surgery, its almost half the price and most are very good at what they do.
I had mine done at www.lasikmd.com

I did it just about a year ago & it was the best money I'd ever spent. While my vision wasn't that bad, I still consider it a life-changing procedure. The place I went in Miami came recommended to me from a friend of my husband. I could go on & on about it, but it was just the most amazing thing.
Virtually everyone I've talked to who had this procedure says the same two things: it was the best money they ever spent and they wish they had done it earlier!
