If you are over 40, as I am, you need to check into Crystalens. 20/20 forever (no touch up) and the possibility of cataracts are gone. Had the procedure done it is absolutely amazing. Went from 20/80 to 20/20.

Is this just the standard lens replacement they do for cataract surgery?

Had LASIK done this year, best investment ever. Lens replacement is also a good alternative , you will never have cataracts and it covers close mid range and distance vision.

If you have LASIK, three key things . Thick corneas are a must , small to avg size pupils ( less chance of glare) , not too much of a correction ( latest FDA approval covers larger range of treatment).

Ask and keep your pre-op K-numbers. You will need them later in life.

Life without glasses rocks, I have a Oakley connection and she has gotten me over 60 pairs to wear plus a display case to house them . Pretty sad now that I don't need glasses I have a huge collection of (sun)glasses.

before LASIK: my vision was 20/200, which means that what you saw at 20 feet, looked to me like it was at 200 feet-- that is to say, v. blurry. I was near-sighted. I couldn't read street signs at all without my glasses.

now: 20/15 yes, that's better than 20/20

the single best thing I've ever done for myself ever. EVER.

the surgery is freaky-- but not painful-- just wacked out. feeling your eye get cut and worked on is not normal.

ask a lot of questions. ask friends and family members for recommendations. but if you qualify and have vision problems severe enough to justify the expense... get over your fears and DO IT!

They are even better methods than LASIK - less intrusive, faster recovery. But I don't remember what's it called.

That's pretty damn bad. You're as blind as a bat.

Yes, I am. Without my contacts, I can focus on the bridge of my nose and no farther.

If you are willing to travel you can go for the cutting edge and go for the "No Touch" laser vision correction. London Place "No Touch" I had my eyes done about three months ago and my girlfriend had her eyes done about a month later.
