Lawn Care, and your equipment
Where I live, most people are pretty meticulous with there lawns.
I try to be..... just curious to see if any one else is.
oh and what Brand and style mowers do you use, just for shits and giggles
We have a Front Mount Zero Turn Grasshopper, diesel
and a Zero Turn Simplicity

I made a mistake of being cheap on watering my lawn. It took only one "dry summer," (what seemed like a few days here in FL last year), to ruin ~2000 ft^2 of my lawn => $800 out of my pocket to lay out the new sod
. Now, I'm all paranoid about my lawn since then....I even watch weather channel regularily
. Thank god for all the "free" waters *rain* I've been getting lately
.
Honda Harmony II is what I have and it's reliable:duh it's a Honda
. For everything else (blower, trimmer, and edger), I have Echo...sorta pricy but the best
. Actually, my trimmer is also my edger (interchangable ends).

As long as it's green and short, I'm happy.
I use a Toro walkbehind, 36" cut, 13hp Kawasaki motor.
My most important piece of equipment is my Redmax backpack leaf blower. It takes two full eight-hour days to blow all our leaves, even with the Redmax. Plus I can use it to dry the car after I wash it.

My lot is really small but I am moving out soon. I bought the crappiest mower Home Depot had for $150. The carb got all screwed up after two years of mowing, now it will run but I could only do that by rigging it to run really rich. You can get quite a buzz if you mow the whole lawn in one shot.
I am, however, quite picky about using plenty of weed killing fertilizer, watering and trimming. It looks very good. I don't care if it is the best, I just don't want it to look like the lawn from "Malcolm in the Middle" if anyone knows what I am talking about. Don't want to be "that guy".
Builder is putting in a lawn at the new place, we'll see what kind of job they do.....

I have a guy come in and mow...I don't own any lawn care stuff. This way I am not the one stepping in dogshit. It takes him and his crew about 15 minutes to mow my yard, he uses 2 5'mowers and then weedeaters around the edges and places his mowers can't reach. 27.50 each time. BTW I hate yard work!

It's super quiet.

Not joking, we really have one. To get to our back yard requires going down about five feet worth of stairs - a gas mower just isn't an option to lug up and down that every time we need to mow. The cutting edge is about two or three inches in from the wheels so you cannot mow right up against anything. But with proper trimming that's not an issue. The effort required to push it is very low as well - about the same as a non-self-propelled gas model.
