Lawn Care, and your equipment

Not joking, we really have one. To get to our back yard requires going down about five feet worth of stairs - a gas mower just isn't an option to lug up and down that every time we need to mow. The cutting edge is about two or three inches in from the wheels so you cannot mow right up against anything. But with proper trimming that's not an issue. The effort required to push it is very low as well - about the same as a non-self-propelled gas model.

I don't care if it is the best, I just don't want it to look like the lawn from "Malcolm in the Middle" if anyone knows what I am talking about. Don't want to be "that guy".
Actually I just got a kid to mow it. I'd rather spend my weekend making beer.
I cut 2 1/2 acres every 4-5 days. I've got a Yazoo 60" zero turn professional cutter. I usually do the front one day (1 hour). And the back the next day (1/2 hour). I trim about once a month with a gas weed eater.
I can't afford to water it, but I do have a service for fertilizer and weed and pest control.
Leaves? I cut it real short and let the wind take care of it in the fall.

What kind is it? My lot is supposed to be a half acre but it is wooded so the lawn itself would not be that big. I think not worrying about running out of gas and never dealing with a crappy carb would be great. I have noticed these things are not any cheaper than alot of power mowers though, I hope than means they are well constructed.

All my neighbors, except one house, have gardenners to take care of our yards.
Who has time to mow the grass ? If the weather is too hot or too cold, it is shopping time. If weather is nice, then it is cruising time on Pacific Coast Highway with top down.

I used to pay a service to keep it manicured like the 18th green but I started to miss the relaxing work. I have about 1/2 acre of grass and I use a Honda Harmony II walk-behind, Stihl Homescaper weedwacker, B&D EdgeHog edger. I suppose if I had more yard I'd go with a riding mower. I'd be constantly crankin the wheel! I find yard work to be good for the nerves.
I used to pay them to spray the chemical s too but I have buddy who works a farm feed & fertilizer distributor who hooks me up for almost nothing. Then I just use the scott's spreader and save myself 800 bucks a yr.
