Default Is this legal?

Here is the scoop.

Just got off work and planned to go to the grocery store to get a few pizzas. On the main road entering the a side road that would lead to the parking lot, i was downshifting and took the turn a bit hard.

As i enter the parking lot, i soon see a cop behind me (about 7-8 car lengths). I park, and enter the building. Soon realizing i forgot my wallet, i go back to my car to get it and see the same cop at the far end of the parking lot waiting with his lights on.

I immediately realize that this fkr is waiting for me to leave to pull me over..
So i go back in and continue shopping/wasting time. About 20 minutes go by and i check out the door windows to see if he is still there.. The son of a Btch is still waiting.

Called a buddy of mine to pick me up so i don't have to drive my car.

I want to know if it is legal for a cop to wait for you like this.
I've been pulled over 3 times for a loud exhaust and 2 of which were tickets.. In the past 3 months was just a warning and one of the tickets.

I'm planning to get it towed to my place. Seriously dont want a fkng ticket right now for some bull sht loud exhaust fine.

Illinois.. seriously though...wtf

any input on this?

The cop was probably just annoyed with your driving technique and overly loud exhaust.

Yep.....he can wait. Why wouldn't he be able to?

Similar situation for me yesterday (well, I was on the other side). Walked out of a store to my car and noticed the guy that had just parked next to me had to chug his Budweiser before he could get out of his car. He seemed to walk a little wonky. Called the cops and they waited at the edge of the parking lot for him to come back out.

I’m glad the cop could wait for this jack wagon.

Well, aside from my obvious immaturity.. Picked up my car a few minutes ago.. With excitement, reaching the sanctuary of my garage, I laughed while saying and feeling like

Now i have to find a stock exhaust. I am tired of this BS.

Wouldn't you need to be there to get it towed? How would that help?
